 Kamsack, Sask, incorporated as a town in 1911, population 1825 (2011c), 1713 (2006c). The Town of Kamsack is located in east-central Saskatchewan, about 86 km northeast of YORKTON and 27 km from the Manitoba border. The general area was fur trading territory for many years, and the town was named after a well-known Native person. A DOUKHOBOR settlement was located nearby at the turn of the century.
