Carl Little studied music history and theory in 1947 with Douglas Clarke at McGill University and piano 1946–48 with Isidor Philipp at the CMM and 1951–52 with Harold Craxton in London. He gave piano recitals on CBC radio from Halifax and Montreal and on tours of Eastern Canada and was organist at various churches in Montreal, Toronto, and North Saanich, BC. With his brother Georges Little, he was co-founder in 1953 and a lifetime director of the Otter Lake Music Centre (CAMMAC). In 1952, he joined the CBC in Montreal as a producer. He moved to CBC Toronto in 1959 as a producer and served as program organizer and 1972–75 as supervisor of radio music for the English network. He was manager of the NACO 1975–78. Little moved to Victoria, BC, in 1980 to establish, with his wife Barbara Wolfond Little, the Arts Connection, a gallery of visual arts and memorabilia related to the performing arts. He served as jury chairman for International Choral Kathaumixw, the festival held biennially in Powell River, BC. His sister is the music teacher Edna Knock.
