Simple Plan is a rock band that formed in Montréal, Qué, with Pierre Bouvier (vocals), Chuck Comeau (drums), Jeff Stinco and Sebastien Lefebvre (guitars) and David Desrosiers (bass). Bouvier, Comeau and Desrosiers released 2 albums in the late 1990s with a punk band called Reset before the formation of Simple Plan, which signed with Lava/Warner and released its No Pads, No Helmets...Just Balls debut album in 2002. The group's pop-punk songs - including the singles "I'm Just a Kid," "I'd Do Anything," "Addicted" and "Perfect" - caught on with young listeners and the album was certified double-platinum in Canada and the United States. It also went platinum in Australia and gold in Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, the Philippines and Singapore.

The album was followed by worldwide touring and the release of the 2004 JUNO AWARD-nominated A Big Package For You DVD. The Still Not Getting Any... album came out in the fall of 2004 and spawned 4 more singles and videos ("Welcome To My Life," "Shut Up!," "Untitled" and "Crazy") and racked up more impressive sales certifications: triple-platinum in Canada; double-platinum in Australia and Indonesia; platinum in Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore and the United States; and gold in Japan, Mexico, the Philippines and Thailand. Simple Plan was nominated for a Group of the Year Juno, while Still Not Getting Any... was a finalist for Best Album and Best Pop Album.

The group travelled around the globe in support of Still Not Getting Any... before returning home to launch its first major coast-to-coast Canadian tour in November 2005 in support of its MTV Hard Rock Live enhanced CD. The band won the Juno Fan Choice Award in 2006.

Simple Plan's self-titled third studio album was released in February 2008. It featured a more varied sound, due in part to the contributions of producers Nate "Danja" Hills (Justin Timberlake, Nelly FURTADO), Max Martin (Kelly Clarkson, Avril LAVIGNE) and Dave Fortman (Evanescence, Mudvayne). The record debuted at #2 on the Canadian sales chart and was certified platinum on the strength of singles "When I'm Gone" and "Your Love Is a Lie."

Get Your Heart On!, another studio recording, was released in 2011. The disk featured contributions from several guest artists, including Weezer band member Rivers Cuomo, British singer Natasha Bedingfield, and Canadian rapper K'Naan.

In addition to their musical pursuits, the band has also contributed to many charitable causes through The Simple Plan Foundation, set up in 2005. These include donations to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the MTV Asia Aid Benefit, MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) and RADD (Recording Artists, Actors, and Athletes against Drunk Driving).
