Fred Storey won Canadian and world curling championships in 1966, 1968 and 1969, playing lead for Ron Northcott. Storey was also selected an all-star lead at several briers. He participated in 10 Alberta provincial curling championships and seven Canadian curling championships (briers). He won numerous provincial and national titles, including the Canadian curling championship Edmonton Carspiel in 1965, Evergreen Tournament of Champions (Vancouver) in 1971 and 1973, Edmonton Tournament of Champions in 1961, CBC Cross Canada in 1964 and Ontario Invitational in 1968.
