Aubin-Edmond Arsenault, lawyer, politician, premier of PEI (b at Egmont Bay, PEI 28 July 1870; d at Charlottetown 29 Apr 1968). In 1917 Arsenault became premier of the Island, the first Acadian premier of any Canadian province.

Aubin-Edmond Arsenault, lawyer, politician, premier of PEI (b at Egmont Bay, PEI 28 July 1870; d at Charlottetown 29 Apr 1968). In 1917 Arsenault became premier of the Island, the first Acadian premier of any Canadian province. Son of Joseph-Octave Arsenault, a longtime provincial member and the first and only PEI Acadian named to the Senate, Arsenault sat in the PEI assembly 1908-21. He was successively minister without portfolio, premier and attorney general and leader of the opposition 1919-21. From 1921 to 1947, Arsenault served as judge of the Supreme Court of PEI.
